an ode to letting go
composed in Bangalore and Hyderabad, 2017–18
performed and recorded at Jazzwerkstatt Graz, 2018

This piece memorializes—and attempts to let go of—what is most precious. The simple melody of the main theme flits around like a butterfly in your brain. Each composed section features a contrasting and insistent rhythm played in the left hand, emphasizing the relationship between one's internal pulse and the passage of time.
